Antimony oxides and
zinc borate are used mainly in
fire-retardant formulations for plastics (PVC resin, Vinyl resin and other
resins compatible to DOP), rubbers, textiles, paper and paints. It is also used
as an additive in glass and ceramic products and as a catalyst in the chemical
industry.
Halogens - bromine compounds, fluoric compounds, chlorine
compound - are needed in combination with Sb203 to achieve the effect
as a flame ratardant additive.
Moreover, antimony white is applied to avoid yellow coloring of car
headlights.
Import
and Export in wholesale trade: Antimony trioxide
as raw chemical material
As chemical raw material antimony trioxide is traded pulvered or granulated.
ANTRACO Chemie-Handelsgesellschaft
mbH (Germany) is a quality supplier of this substance. Due to excellent contacts
to producers and manufacturers, Antraco is a prime address for buying departments
in the chemical industry.
Antimony trioxide as catalyst
The catalyst application in PET production, film production as well as the
textile industry are examples of the application range of antimony oxides. It
is also used for staple fiber and industrial twines (filaments).
Sb203, Antimony(III)oxide, Antimony white
Antimony trioxide
is also known as antimony oxide, antimonious oxide, antimony sesquioxide, antimony
white, antimony [III] oxide, Sb2O3, Sb2O5, Antimony sesquioxide.
Alternatively, the application of antimony acetate is
possible.
